Holds 128 CD/DVD Discs

Top Positive Review

It took me a bit to decide what sort of case I needed. Luckily a lot of my dvds have printed labels on them so I didn??t stuff booklets in each slot. Though on CDs missing labels I cut the cover of the dvd Case jacket and used it as a label or wrote a title on a index card. Some dvds I put 2 in a slot (movie+bonus feature disc or DVD+BluRay) and the case still closes.

Overall it??s mainly for disc only but if you need to double up some slots with 2 disc or put a thin sheet in front of the disc to title the blank disc it will work just fine. I chose the smaller case because the big case was not comfortable for me to hold. Otherwise there is a 4 disc per a page option from this seller.

I??m very satisfied with this product. It was definitely a little painful to toss all my cases, especially special covered cases but it??s just an object after all and now I can get rid of my dvd tower.

Top Critical Review

Having read through the glowing reviews, I was hoping that I found a good affordable option for my large media collection. I purchased 6 in total (all 128 capacity): a Blue case (for my Blu Ray discs), a Silver case (for my Audio CDs), and 4 Black cases (for a portion of my DVD collection).

First the “Good”….
The cases are a good form-factor. The sturdy front and back covers and wide thickness allow these to stand up securely without falling over. The sleeves themselves are well-made with a channel cut-out to allow for easy removal of the discs. I appreciate the little closed slit at the top that can optionally cover the top of the disc to keep it securely in place. (or not use them if discs will regularly be inserted and removed)

The cases are very attractive and have an overall high quality to them that is not reflected in the low price.

Next, the “Bad”…
Perhaps the greatest fault in these cases has to do with how the sleeves are attached to the spine. The individual sleeves are attached to the spine too close to each other. The result is that when all the sleeves are filled with discs, the case cannot be zipped closed without putting significant pressure on the discs. (see the first photo)

This will most certainly cause the discs to warp over time. It appears that the sleeves are separated into two separate groupings that are then attached to the outer binder spine… there’s a significant gap between the two groups of 64 pockets. If they had been evenly distributed across the entire binder spine, there would be plenty of space between the sleeves to be able to close the binder without putting pressure on the discs.

Lastly, the “Ugly”….
Although I purchased all of these “new”, the blue binder was clearly a returned item. One of the disc slots on the sleeve was torn, and there were 5 used DVDs still inserted in some slots.

The silver binder was not the light silver as depicted in photos, but rather it was a dark gray with a light gray/silver edging. That’s “ok” for me, but it would be helpful to have more accurate or up-to-date photos.

The design of the binder does not offer any way to cleanly mark them. Having a little window where a card could be inserted with a number or other designator would help those of us who will have a bunch of these. Obviously this isn’t a problem for those who will only have one case.

In spite of the faults with these binders, I’ll most likely keep them because I really do like the construction and the form factor. I am digitizing my physical media collection to make it easily accessible by my Plex server so I won’t be going back to the discs on a regular basis. I’ll probably use an Xacto knife to carefully separate the sleeves from the spine and allow the sleeves to “free float” in the binder. That will release the pressure on the discs when zipped up.

Hopefully the manufacturer will read this and make adjustments to the design to address the serious issue of pressure on the discs.

Edit to update (11/29/2020):
I proceeded to carefully remove the sleeves from the spine. The sleeves (each a folded pair) are laid one on top of another and the whole bundle a simple-stitched to the spine. By using a hobby knife, I was able to cut the stitching and remove the sleeves and separate them.

I then folded each sleeve individually, and laid one on top of the other. The final result is that I was able to use all 128 slots for discs without any uneven pressure on the discs. (see photo) This will work great for me, but I’ll need to leave the rating at “3 stars” because of the design out of the box.

Customer Questions & Answers

Is the backing material made of plastic or cloth? (The material touching the back of the disc when inserted)
Answer: Cloth

Is the “red” more of a “purple” in actual color, or somewhere in between?
Answer: Correct, it’s not a true red and more purple in color than red.

Does anyone have trouble with the zipper dangling at the bottom when it’s closed?
Answer: Yes, that’s because the zipper is made longer than the case. This is what I did to solve this matter.

After I zipper the case there’s enough space at the bottom where the zipper is dangling to tuck it in.

Hope this helps.

Can I buy it here?
Answer: Hello, here is the CCidea brand, you can of course buy it here, good quality
